Music Ministries

We have many opportunities for musicians to participate in worship and offer their talents to glorify God here at First Presbyterian of Valparaiso.

FPC CHOIR
Ages 13 and up.
Rehearsals: Thursdays at 6:30 PM.
Open to all who love to sing! You do not need to be a ‘seasoned’ musician to be in our choir. Maybe you don’t read music or understand its technicalities? Join us anyway and learn by doing!
The choir usually sings an Introit, Word in Sacred Music and Choral Benediction at the 9:00 a.m. service from September – May. They also perform 2-3 cantatas per year for Veterans Day, Christmas and Good Friday/Easter.

REFORMATION RINGERS

FPC’s Handbell Choir. NO experience needed. We can teach you as we go along and before you know it you will be ringing like a pro! The Reformation Ringers ring in worship starting in September and go through May, usually at the 9:00 a.m. service and also for special services, Christmas and Easter.

PRAISE BAND
The praise band meets for rehearsals usually on Thursday evenings, 6:30pm, in the sanctuary. They meet again Sunday morning from 9:30 to 10 for a final rehearsal. Music selections feature both acoustic and electric instruments. The band is made up of regular folks who have a love of music and an appreciation for the opportunity to share their gifts. The band leads all music at the 11:00 service each week and is led by Harry Karabel and Michael Croarkin.
