Trish Lawson's Blog

As I write this, the sun is shining, the green grass is lush, the leaves in the trees are full and shading the many nests the birds have been building as new life begins. Watching the life cycle begin again after winter is always the sign of hope, I seem to crave every spring.

When I chose to be a part of The Sharing Table Project, it was an easy “absolutely” because I knew this was going to be a new life cycle for First Presbyterian Valpo, again the sign of hope, that we all crave.

Since March, there has been a vibrancy that I have not seen in my years here as a member that has further reinvigorated my soul and my passion to be a part of growing this church into a flourishing future. I see this church as a progressive one, meaning forward thinking. We are extremely blessed that we have pastors that can see what is happening now and see how it can shape our future.

We have a real opportunity to grow and nurture First Presbyterian Valpo into the future for all current and future congregation members by ways of time, talent, and treasure. Whether you can offer one or all three, know that it all matters! You have heard “it takes a village to raise a child,” the same can be said for progressing a church. I have seen what FPCV’s “village” has done for our family, so I know it is possible.

Let’s commit what we can, support and lift each other up as we move forward as a church, as a family, and as faithful children of God. We will gather on Saturday, June 10th to celebrate our past, present, and future and we would love to see Fellowship Hall full of our community and the vibrancy we all bring.

Much love,

Trish
