Perfectly Flawed…That’s me, Perfectly Flawed and I am perfectly fine with that! What is she talking about this time?! Well, I am glad you asked. Wednesday mornings at 10:00 a.m. are my very favorite part of my Wednesdays because it is the time I get to spend with the spunkiest group of ladies from the Faithful Friends Bible Study. I do believe we laugh and cut up more that we should own up to; and yet we always have the most meaningful conversations. I would not trade my Wednesday mornings for anything!

In early November, we wrapped up an interactive study called Perfectly Flawed God Transforms Our Weaknesses into Strengths by Lisa Toney. This is a women’s Bible study on the life of Peter. Each week for 6 weeks, we watched a short video led by Lisa herself and dove into what it meant to be Perfectly Flawed and Chosen, Called, Hopeful, Humbled, Empowered and Faithful through the eyes of Peter. It became abundantly clear right away that many of us could relate to each week in the most similar ways!

Now, if you had asked me which Apostle I most relate to, I would have looked at you like you had three heads! After reading, watching the video, and engaging in meaningful discussion, hands-down I am a Peter! He was relatable in his encounters with Jesus from his curiosity to fear, from finding hope in moments that seem (to me) hopeless, in moments of crisis where I find myself doubting Jesus’ watchful eye to thanking Him for all of the blessings bestowed upon me…Yep, Peter and I could definitely share some stories!

God made us in His image with the added ingredient of being flawed. Week after week, I realized that the flaws we have are those gifted teachable moments from God. When we know better from a flawed moment, we have the chance to do better the next time around and we have the ability to share what we have learned with others…”re-gifting” in a roundabout way!

If you ever have the opportunity to join any one of our Bible Studies here at church, I strongly encourage you to consider it. If you are an active member of a study, look around and invite someone new to join.  When I joined all those years ago (after being asked by Jacki Phillips), I thought to myself, “what in the world are you doing”, it became clear that I was becoming a part of something so welcoming and so loving and once again, something I never knew I needed in my orbit.

Perfectly Flawed and yet all the love for you always,

Trish
